I ran my first half marathon. This photo is from the start line, somewhere between nerves and excitement, with my watch ready and my bib pinned on.
Training happened around everything else in my life, which meant early mornings and a lot of runs I did not feel like starting. Race day made all of them worth it. The first miles felt easy, the middle asked questions, and the last stretch was pure stubbornness.
Crossing the finish felt like proof that I can do hard things slowly and consistently. There will be another one.
